From Tom Haroz
Trudie, you may not remember me as I have not been able to attend many of the 1955 class functions thru the years but I was in that graduation class and my name to C. Tom Haroz and I went by Tom. I now get the HPHS Class of 1955 Newsletter and it directed me to the website that was so nice to visit. Seeing many of my classmates brought back many memories and now that I am fully retired I do hope to attend class functions in the future.
My wife Judith( Hillcrest Class of 1957) and I just recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Alaska with our children and one grandchild. I doubt if we are the first in our class to reach a 50 yr. union, but after recently reading the divorce rate statistics for our class I was just wondering. It we are the first in our class, that you know, to reach that lofty goal would you let me know.
Attached is an article placed in the Albuquerque Journal that briefly tells of our journey together. I,m not so great with attachments to E-mails so hope this gets to you.
Take care and say hello for me to those you see in our class on a regular basis. Warm regards - Tom Haroz From Stewart Woodward
Stewart Woodward a few months ago moved to a new home in a subdivision on a golf course about 15 miles east of Boulder, CO. He and his wife made an effort to meet their new neighbors. They met their neighbors 2 houses from them and during the conversation learned that the wife, Jane Hardwick, graduated from Highland Park, Class of 52. Not only that but the husband, Norm, was Best Man in the wedding of Henry Jacoby, HPHS graduate, and Martha Hughes, our Class of 55 classmate.

Dear Mr. Compton,
Thank you and the alumni association for the letters sent to me in Neuilly. Beaumont-en-Venon is the summer address (22,000 s.f. of land and house near Chinon) in France.
I wish you and your group every success. I have only a bit of news.
Thomas, my son, and his wife, Rosella, are professors of piano and performance – Masters Classes – at the conservatory of music in Mons, Belgium, near Brussels. They perform regularly and give workshops in Europe. Both are recipients of first prizes in competitions in France, Belgium, Japan, etc. Rosella is Italian – Northern Italy.
Jeannette, class of 1959, is recognized as one of the most recognized artists in France – rather impressionist.
I am a genetic engineer – structural enzymologist specializing in IRM detection. I hold two degrees, one in physico-chemistry and a second in molecular biology.
Again, good luck.
Sincerely yours,
Genevieve Paule

I'm so glad you and the committee have planned another "do." It is neat that all of us 70 year olds can still hang out. Alas, it will have to be without me, because my Texas-time these days is spent in Austin, where my father lives. It is hard to figure out what he did to get to be 104 years old and still have his marbles, but whatever it was, he still is and does.
Cheers!

From George Rogers
Hello Trudie -- I had an "out of the blue" call from Bill Whitehead early this year. We first met and became friends when in second grade (University Park Elementary); he lived nearby on the same street (Hanover) as my grandparents.
When I heard from him recently, he was alive, happy and well in Pennsylvania. We had a great conversation on the phone, during which he said (I think) Martha Hughes (also a long time friend of his) had stopped in for a visit at some point since the 50th reunion. She may be able to confirm my info and, as appropriate, provide contact info.
Thanks for doing the "keeping up" task for our class.
Warmly --
George Rogers

Thanks for your work on the 55 newsletter. The photos there and on the website are intriguing. I'll attach a recent one of me for your archives; I now may have a few more wrinkles and sags, but just as much (or little) hair.
We're not sure when we'll next travel west from these nice mountains, as my wife has a rather confining health situation, but we offer a good tour service for friends heading to this tourist area (known as 'land of waterfalls' beneath the Brlue Ridge Parkway).

I loved the newsletter you all sent out, and I have noted on my calendar that we might get together again on September 15. I wanted to be sure you have my new e-mail address. The caseyf@tyler.net is disappearing this weekend. My new e-mail address is caseyf@suddenlink.net. Thanks for noting the change.
I'm leaving for camp on June 12 and won't be back until July 31. About four days after my return I am traveling to Santa Barbara for a week, so I am hard to find in the summertime! However, I can access my e-mail through the Internet. Also, a letter will reach me at camp if you send it to campnak@frontiernet.net and put my name in the Subject blank.
Since we had our first 1955 class reunion, I have put the old film I had on a video on a DVD. The section which shows us at our Senior Picnic is pretty cute, and it doesn't last very long. We might discuss whether you all want me to show up with the DVD.
I'll be seeing Florine at camp the end of June. How fun! I hope you have a great summer, and thanks for all the work you do to keep the Class of '55 together and informed.

What a treat to get the newsletter. You and all the others working on our class' information and activities deserve kudos. I'm looking forward to seeing you and everyone else who is able to be there in September 2007. Unless something unforseen occurs, I will be there.

The first Newsletter is excellent! Some of the names were familiar, while others I didn't recognize. My wife (Brenda Lee) and I would like to attend one of the Reunion Lite's, depending on our work schedule. We live in Little Rock, AR and own a rather large antique mall, Blue SuedeShoes Antique Mall, just outside of LIT (I-30, Exit 123, telephone 501-653-2777). We are open every day and would love to see all of you.Keep me on the mailing list. Thanks again, Jim
